Carsington Sailing Club 25th Anniversary Celebration Weekend - July 1st & 2nd

Carsington Sailing Club celebrates its 25th Anniversary.

Plans have now been completed for an exciting weekend of events at Carsington Sailing Club to celebrate its 25th anniversary. We have a programme for all ages and interests.

Please hold the dates of July 1st and 2nd in your diary.

Throughout the day we are arranging a series of events for younger Members including; a cardboard boat race, a model boat race (need to build it first!), Oppy races using paddles instead of sail, and a duck hunt. For the grown ups we are having a build and race your own boat event (strict rules for this will be sent out in advance). In the afternoon we want all sailors to get their boat onto the water for a parade of sail to include a decorated boat competition and treasure hunt. Our aim (apart from having fun) is to see how many boats we can get on the water.
During the day we will also have music on the terrace and children games on dry land.

Saturday evening we are holding a social with a professionally prepared and served Barbecue, a raffle in aid of Sailability and Live Music. Tickets will be on sale soon.  Make sure you book your BBQ tickets with the office by Thursday June 29th

On Sunday we are holding the Commodores Cup. This will be competed over 3 races. Regular racers will have a single, mass start; novices will have a separate start to encourage maximum involvement.

Many people have shown an interest in camping overnight so arrangements for this are being developed.
