Sailing

The Club is Open from Wednesday to Sundays throughout the year with the exception of January when it is closed to Members.
It is also business as usual on most Mondays and Tuesdays when there are Bank Holiday weeks.

The Club offers a wide variety of sailing activities, whether it is for the casual sailor or the keen racer.

Whichever is your preference you will have lots of space to enjoy your sailing in the most wonderful setting amongst the hills of the Peak District on the edge of the National Park.

Whenever you sail at Carsington you will also have the added confidence of knowing that there is always a safety boat and crew on the water keeping an eye on everyone's well being.

General Club Sailing
This takes place from Wednesday through to Sunday throughout the Club year and provides the opportunity for those who prefer to sail mid week or for those for whom that is their only opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy themselves, as well as for the many who prefer to do their sailing at the weekend.

Mid Week Sailing

Mid Week Sailing is increasing in popularity each year, in part because there is safety cover provided whenever sailors are on the water. During the Summer months the club will often provide safety cover so members may enjoy casual sailing on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings as well as during the day.
The Galley is open for meals on a Wednesday when the Club Sailability members are usually in attendance.
Sailing Times

Please report to the office before going sailing on week days.
Also always make sure you ring to check beforehand to avoid any disappointment 

Club racing

• Saturdays sees the Cruiser Fleet and the Youth Squad racing around the cans.
• Sundays are mainly for Club Dinghy and Catarmaran racing.
• Wednesdays also see evening racing when daylight allows

Youth Fleet
On most Saturdays, from the Spring to late Autumn, our younger sailors will be out on the water on Saturdays. Either improving their skills in the Saturday Club or as they get a little older, as part of the Club Youth Development Squad.

Club Fleet Days
Club Fleets will often hold their own fleet days, combining both on and off the water activities, covering sailing, training and the inevitable social evening at the end of the day!

Open Meetings
The Club hosts Open Meetings for many classes of boat throughout the sailing season.
These are generally one or two day events and are normally held at weekends. They range from Regional through to National Events, with the odd International Event thrown in for good measure.
