Club Racing Series

Introduction

Carsington Sailing Club is fortunate to sail most of the year, which allows the club to have a variety of seasonal weekend racing series as well as a mid week evening series.

The various series are run for various classes of boat, more details of which are provided below.

Please check the Club Diary or Sailing Calendar for exact dates for all series.

For fleets, starts and handicaps please refer to the Sailing Instructions.

Saturday

Cruiser fleet racing has three races on a Saturday.
There is one race in the morning, which starts at 11:00hrs. Afternoon racing for the rest of the season commences at 13:15hrs, with the two races being held back to back.
This year there are 8 racing series (Please refer to the Club Diary or Sailing Calendar for details)

In the afternoon the Youth Squad join in racing with the Cruisers. They have their own start and have their own supervising safety boat.

Sunday

Dinghy, Keel Boat and Catamaran fleet racing takes place on Sundays with starts as shown on the Sailing Calendar and Club Diary.

There are five main series: Frostbite, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter each divided into a separate morning and afternoon series.

Wednesdays

Dinghy, Keel Boat and Catamaran fleet racing takes place on Wednesday evenings from March to the end of September with start times as shown on the Sailing Calendar. The Wednesday evening races are divided into two series of 12 races each. After racing members can enjoy a freshly cooked evening meal from the Galley.

This year we are also going to run a Wednesday Morning series for the mid week sailors. Details are on the Sailing Calendar and Club Diary.
