Flying 15

The Flying 15 is a high performance 20 foot (6 metre) long 2 person keelboat with conventional spinnaker. There are nearly 4000 boats registered worldwide. The boat provides excellent racing for crews of all sizes and ages with exciting planing performance in medium breezes upwards. There is an excellent national and international racing circuit organised by a very supportive Class Association who also preserve the interests of older boats (‘Silver’ and ’Classic’) by encouraging separate prizes, starts, and handicaps as event entries demand.

Flying 15s at Carsington are dry sailed and the Club’s concrete slipways make launching and retrieval probably the best in the UK.

Carsington has a fleet of approximately 20 boats who sail in the Club’s Medium Handicap Fleet. Open, Silver, and Classic boats sail to the relevant Class Association/RYA PY ratings so giving competitive racing for boats of all ages.

Club Flying 15 sailors take part in the national meeting circuit and have hosted the UK Inland Championships twice.
