Sailability Fun Day

SAILABILITY FUN DAY

Sailability Fun Day was a great success, thanks to the Youth at Carsington.

The morning was spent racing Sailability Access Dinghies with back to back racing around a triangle course.

There was a separate boat that was doing time trials around a buoy, but with the added twist the helm had their eyes covered.
This put the onus on the crew to guide the helm around the course. We witnessed some very interesting sailing!

The afternoon saw the introduction of the Toppers, Pico and Oppies supporting their new sails.
A series of races during the afternoon saw many of Carsington's Youth doing their first ever race.
Congratulations to everybody who had a go.

Prize giving saw the customary enthusiasm of the Juniors members queuing up for their Smarties.

A very big thank you to everyone at Sailability for there help and the use of their boats; to our very patient Race Officer Martin Fidgeon and to Mel Shaw, and Sue Shaw, Matt Archer and James Hyde for covering rescue.
