You will learn and develop a range of skills required for understanding dinghy racing and getting out onto the race course for the first time. An experienced RYA Racing Instructor will take you through the race signals and start sequence, how to start a race and sail the course, mark roundings, racing rules, tactics and boat tuning. An RYA start racing certificate will be presented upon completion. It may be completed in your own boat if suitable.
Most of the course will be completed in single handers. Towards the end of the course the group will participate with club racing. Coaching will be provided throughout these races, but the result will not be counted in the series.
The course requires a minimum of four candidates to run.
