It has been a busy time since the AGM this year and I would like to thank those Members that voted for our new Management Committee.
We now have a full Committee and I feel we have a great team, comprising Members with many differing skill sets appropriate to the efficient and orderly running of the club.
Since the AGM we have been very busy looking at ways to improve access to the water, longer term club development and generally looking at ways we can improve what we have at Carsington. There are many challenges and we will do our best to help in any way we can while ensuring the Club remains financially stable.
Stone has been laid on the flanks of the Dick Dalton slip. This has helped with launching and recovery of dinghies.
Many thanks to Dick Dalton and his crew for helping with this.

The recent very successful Optimist event only goes to show what can be achieved and the stone enabled us to launch approximately 100 boats. We had great feedback from the event and would welcome them coming to CSC again in the future.

The water is returning very quickly and hopefully through January will continue. This should get us to nearly full by Easter provided the river levels remain high. Currently we are at about 70% capacity.

Some members may notice that we have removed the North Jetty and this is now ashore awaiting a refurbishment. We have much of the materials needed and have already made a start on dismantling the rotten timber. We hope to bring this up to the same standard as the South Jetty.
Additionally we have installed a new pontoon on the North Slip which is there for evaluation purposes and has been provided on loan by the Pontoon & Dock Company Ltd. Providing the feedback we receive from members is positive then we will try to obtain a grant to purchase.

The new website is now live and all members should have received an invitation to go online and set up their details through our database package - Sailing Club Manager. Please do action the email as it will be vital to the future running of the club that the details held are correct.

Our Dutyman system will also be replaced for 2019 by Duty Roster. This will be run through the same Portal.

Through January the Club will be closed and due to the weather in previous years we have decided that the normal winter work parties won't be organised in the same way as previously.
We will however be at the club during the weekends at certain periods to check on the jetties. Provided we know who is coming to site we will be happy for you to come and check on your boats and help us out with any larger projects. Please email me directly or call 07802 402426 if you are planning on coming to the site in January as we will only be there at certain times. Ceri will be on leave throughout.

Membership renewals will be Emailed to you at the end of January 2019. If you wonder why you haven't received it, this is due to us getting the system set up for online payments and renewals. You will hopefully be able to do this online as well as through the Club Office for 2019.

Over the next few months we will keep you updated on what we are doing and please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any queries or concerns.

Finally as the festive season are now in full swing, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I would like to wish you and your families a very Happy New Year.

Happy sailing in 2019.
