RYA Stage 1

Prerequisites: Start your sailing journey here! No experience required.                                                              

Led by qualified RYA instructors, junior sailors will be eased into the world of sailing through this fun introductory course designed around developing water confidence. Over two days, students will work as a team to launch and recover their dinghies, learn about basic boat controls, and sail a simple course.

By the end of the course, students will start to feel confident in a small boat and will be able to sail across the wind and go about through the wind. They will receive a copy of the Start Sailing handbook containing everything a beginner sailor needs to know, illustrated with clear, colourful diagrams. Students will also receive the Youth Scheme Logbook and a sticker poster to record their achievements and certificates as they continue their sailing journey.

Ratio Up to 6 students per instructor

Minimum age 8

Prices - £175 per stage - £150 per stage for members
