Adult Learn To Sail - RYA Level 1, RYA Level 2 and RYA Levels 1 & 2 Combined.


These courses are open to non-Members

These courses are run over four consecutive Saturdays or two consecutive weekends or 5 consecutive days.

No previous experience is required

The courses cover RYA Level 1 (Start Sailing) and RYA Level 2 (Basic Skills). Most courses are run as Level 1 and Level 2 Combined

Level 1 (Start Sailing) - This course provides a short introduction to sailing for novices. By the end of the course, participants will have a basic understanding of boat handling techniques and background knowledge.

Level 2 (Basic Skills) - On completion of this course, the successful sailor will be safety conscious, have a basic knowledge of sailing and be capable of sailing without an instructor on board in light winds.
It will be assumed that every student has already mastered the practical skills and absorbed the background knowledge required for Start Sailing Level 1.

These courses are run throughout the year according to demand. Therefore if there isn't one scheduled, please contact the office who will be able to provide you with more information.
