Seasonal Sailing Instructor / General Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Seasonal Sailing Instructor / General Assistant to join our team during the upcoming sailing season. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant outdoor environment, supporting sailing programmes and assisting with daily operations. The successful candidate will have a passion for sports coaching and teaching, with a keen interest in sailing and outdoor activities. This paid position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in sports instruction and customer service within a dynamic setting.
Duties

• Deliver engaging sailing lessons to participants of various ages and skill levels, ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times
• Assist with organising sailing activities, equipment setup, and maintenance of safety gear
• Support the day-to-day running of the sailing programme, including registration, scheduling, and participant management
• Provide general assistance around the facility, including setting up equipment, tidying areas, and supporting event logistics
• Supervise participants during sailing sessions, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
• Offer guidance and support to beginners, fostering a positive learning environment
• Contribute to promotional activities by engaging with visitors and encouraging participation in sailing activities
• Some office and reception work will be required
• Candidates may be asked to help in the galley and bar

Qualifications

• RYA Dinghy Instructors but ideally RYA Senior Instructor
• Ideally already hold RYA Safety Boat but training will be given
• Previous experience in sports coaching or teaching is highly desirable
• Passion for sailing, water sports, or outdoor activities is essential
• Strong communication skills with an approachable manner
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
• Organised with good time management skills
• Enthusiastic attitude with a commitment to safety and customer service
• Relevant certifications in sports coaching or water safety are advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary
• Experience of Tractor Driving is preferable but training can be provided for suitable candidatesThis position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills in sports instruction while enjoying the outdoors. Pay: £12.75-£13.50 per hour
