Carsington Sailing club is not for profit, members club situated between Ashbourne Matlock and is the largest club in the area. We are a successful club providing general sailing and racing for its members. On water activities for members includes catamaran, cruiser, dinghy, SUP, windsurfing, winging.
The club operates OnBoard for youth members, local schools and also supports other local youth groups.
We provide RYA courses for catamaran, dinghy, keelboat, powerboat, windsurf and winging.
We support sailors with disabilities through our Sailability section. The club is normally fully open to members Wednesday through to Sunday
We are seeking a full-time Sailing Manager to oversee and coordinate the clubs sailing and day to day operations. The role is responsible for managing sailing programmes, supervising staff and volunteers. In addition the successful applicant will need to ensure compliance with training and safety standards. The club delivers a high-quality experience for members / guests.

Key responsibilities: Include improving team delivery through effective planning, clear delegation, and performance monitoring. Operational and compliance needs to be accurately maintained, along with necessary monitoring, tracking and reporting. Structured processes need to be maintained that support the smooth and efficient running of the club. The successful applicant will support scheduled sailing activities and events in line with the clubs operational calendar. They will oversee and contribute as necessary to open meetings, training programmes and one-off days. The successful applicant will also ensure equipment and club resources are maintained to required standards.

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate having a track record carrying out comparable responsibilities, including instructor mentoring and development. In addition they must also be able to cover instructor leadership, volunteer support, documentation management, and delivery.
All Applicants will be considered, provided they can demonstrate the required competencies and skills required for the role.

Qualifications and Experience:
As a minimum applicants must hold RYA Senior Instructor in at least two of the sailing disciplines, preferably dinghy, windsurf and winging. The ideal candidate will already be a qualified powerboat instructor.
Launching and Recover of boats using a tractor, although training can be provided for the right applicant.
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check in line with safeguarding requirements.

References: Two references will be required from at least one RYA RTC.

Training Team: The successful applicant will be responsible for working with and developing a team of club and occasional external instructors.

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the nominated committee member
Oversee all on water activities, moorings and club rotas
Manage clubhouse and grounds
Ensure HSE compliance and safety standards
Engage with members and support club events
Engage together with supporting local schools and youth organisations
